Burberry | Fall Winter 2016/2017 Full Fashion Show | Exclusive

I. About the Clothing Brand

Burberry is one of Britain's leading fashion brands.
Through the apprenticeship of the tailor, Thomas Burberry founded Burberry
at the age of 21 in 1856.
Initially there was specializing in outdoor clothing. In 1870, Burberry developed into a large-scale retail store due to quality commitment and fabric innovation.
In 1879, he invented a new material superior in durability and waterproof called gabardine with a hint of coat that farmers wore on clothes to prevent dirt.
Gabardine, an innovative fabric that is highly breathable and resistant to bad weather, revolutionized the traditional heavy, uncomfortable outerwear.
In 1888 he acquired a patent, monopolizing its manufacturing rights until 1917.
In 1891 he placed the headquarters and stores of Thomas Burberry & Sons at 30 Haymarket in London.
During the Bohr War of 1895, Burberry produced a coat "Thai Rocken Coat" with no button to lock with a string for a British officer, the predecessor of the trench coat.
And The brand that made the trench coat for the first time is Burberry.
In 1924, I advertised the design used as the lining of the coat as "Burberry check".
This caused a big boom.
And Burberry began using the horse's knight logo since 1901. "PRORSUM" in the flag means "in front" in Latin.

III. My Reaction

A. Reaction Point - accessory

B. Reaction Point - fabric texture

C. Reaction Point - apparel
  • Burberry clothes are good in shape.
  • For example Burberry dresses are in a style that looks good in style, from casual to evening. Wall paper prints, Jacquards and tulle add accents to the color and pattern inspired by the runway. Elegant evening dresses and gowns are tailored with delicate silk and lace. The style for daytime is finished in a soft cotton and a relaxed silhouette.

D. My General Opinion

I got my mother's sneaky Burberry watch and got interested in this brand.
The product of this brand is not cheap at all, but I understood that it is designed to make it as cool as it is using a good fabric.
I thought the designers who make products that makes people feel good are amazing.
I also had longing for the products of this brand.
When I became an adult and started to earn money, I thought that I would like to buy this brand's item.

"Alice in Wonderland "

I. About the Film

This film was made in 1903.
The silent film adaptation of Lewis Carroll's novel "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" directed and written by W.W. Young and starring Viola Savoy as Alice.
Original music composed by Marco De Boni in the film.
This movie is a monochrome / silent 8-minute short film made in 1903 five years after the author's death by the author Luis Carroll, followed by the development of technology and media, it has been made into a length.

And the first-ever film version of Lewis Carroll's tale has recently been restored by the BFI National rchive from severely damaged materials.
Made just 37 years after Lewis Carroll wrote his novel and eight years after the birth of cinema, the adaptation was directed by Cecil Hepworth and Percy Stow,
and was based on Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations.
In an act that was to echo more than 100 years later, Hepworth cast his wife as the Red Queen, and he himself appears as the Frog Footman.
Even the Cheshire cat is played by a family pet. With a running time of just 12 minutes (8 of which survive), Alice in Wonderland was the longest film produced in England at that time. Film archivists have been able to restore the film's original colors for the first time in over 100 years.
Music: 'Jill in the Box', composed and performed by Wendy Hiscocks.
This restoration was supported by The Headley Trust and The Pilgrim Trust.

IV. My Reaction

A. Reaction Point - Film editing

・Film editing is assembling a complete film that is a unified whole.

A story that can not be talked to in the real world talks with the main character Alice and advances the story.

・In this story not only humans but also caterpillars, rabbits, cats, flowers are talking with the main character Alice.
It is becoming an important role of this story to embarrass the main character by speaking and entertaining.
B. Reaction Point - setting

・Setting is the context in time and place in which the action of a story occurs.

・The main place in this story is in Alice 's dream.

・The place where the main stories are developed is in Alice 's dream. However, it is not realized that Alice 's hero is also in his dream in a world that is unlikely in reality.

C. Reaction Point - characters

・Characters is persons - or animals or natural forces represented as persons - in a work of literature.

・Besides humans, caterpillars, rabbits, cats, and flowers are strongly individualized, waiting for distinctive speech and characteristic habits.

・The Queen of Hearts is domineering personality, trying to treat a person named Heart's Jack as a felon just by being able to eat his own pie, and Cheshire Cat also has a domineering character. In addition, rabbits and Alice and other serious and modest personality are well transmitted. The story that such characters make up is cohesive and funny.

D. My General Opinion

I have liked this story from olden days and I was watching live-action film and animated movies.
I also read many novels from this story.
I am glad that I can find out about my favorite work.

IV. My Reaction to Murder on the Orient Express

B. Reaction Point - appeal
  • Where the result is unknown to the last place and the personality character are the good points of this novel.
  • Among the novels is a lot of quotes from Hercule Poiro. For example "The golden gold dresses a noblemis into a beauty”.

B. Reaction Point - protagonist
  • Protagonist is main character.
  • The main character Hercule Poirot is a very distinct person.
  • Because hero Hercule Poirot is from the French-speaking world, it will accentuate when excited or mix French during the interval between English.

C. Reaction Point - denouement
  • Denouement is the ending of a story or a plot.
  • I do not know the murderer until the end, and it is fun to think who is the culprit.
  • The murderer is 12 other than the hero riding the express.

D. My General Opinion
I liked this work from before.
However, I did not know much about the author, the year when this work was made, and detailed contents.
So I was very happy to know on what occasion Agatha Christie is, what kind of work I am writing, when "Orient express murder case" was created.
From now on I will know many things as a fan of her work and I want to read her works.

My Featured Song

Don't let me down by Beatles

Don't let me down, don’t let me down
Don't let me down, don’t let me down

Nobody ever loved me like she does
Oh, she does , yeah she does
And if somebody loved me like she do me
Oh, she do me, yes, she does

Don't let me down, don’t let me down
Don't let me down, don’t let me down

I'm in love for the first time
Don't you know it's gonna last
It's a love that lasts forever
It's a love that had no past(Seeking past)

Don't let me down, don’t let me down
Don't let me down, don’t let me down

And from the first time that she really done me
Oh, she done me, she done me good
I guess nobody ever really done me
Oh, she done me she done me good

Don't let me down, don’t let me down
Heeeee, don't let me down

Don't let me down
Don't let me down, don’t let me down
Can you dig it ?  Don't let me down

I. About the Song

John Lennon is showing "Julia" by an album " The Beatles" in 1958 and is dealing with the love ballade offered to Yoko Ono. And this song is also the love ballade offered to her.
The title "Don't let me down" is addressed to her.

This song was recorded by a common "Get back session" in 1969.
And "Get back" and this song are a single, and these were seeing an eye on the day.
It should be the preceding single of the album "Get back" by schedule, but sale was canceled after all for the album.

The source at this time was decorated and corrected by Phil Specter.
And it was sold as the album "Let it be" in 1970, but this song was removed from record songs.
But it was recorded in a sold album "Let it be‥.Naked" in 2003 as the one has removed the decoration of the orchestra and the chorus added by Phil Specter.

Further, the one recorded on January 28, 1969 was adopted as a single board.
But the album "Let it be ... Naked" adopted the version which edited the played one by roof live in the Apple headquarters on January 30.

IV. My Reaction

A. Reaction Point -Lyrics
  • Lyrics is the words to a song. Lennon is including feeling to Yoko in this song.
  • 1,Nobody ever loved me like she does Oh, she does, yeah she does And if somebody loved me like she do me Oh, she do me, yes she does 2, I'm in love for the first time Don't you know It's gonna last It's a love that lasts forever It's a love that had no past
  • It's being transmitted how much John is remembering Yoko by 2 paragraphs.

B. Reaction Point - Point of view
  • Point of view is the perspective from which a story is told in a song's lyrics.
  • And from the first time that she really done me Oh,she done me, she done me good I guess nobody ever really done me Oh, she done me she done me good
  • This paragraph shows that Yoko is loving Lennon, too.
The feeling that Lennon is painful again is being transmitted.
I thought it was also included in the meaning to tell "the world, feature and my friend don't make me fall into these lyrics to a life, and not to make them disappointed".

C. Reaction Point - Song chorus
  • Song chorus is a catchy musical phrase that makes a song popular and memorable.
  • A phrase as "Don't let me down" is used 18 times in this song.
  • It's being transmitted by using it repeatedly many times that I'm strong in expectation.
The place where Lennon is singing this phrase so that he may cry also appeals.

D. My General Opinion

The place where Lennon's expectation is being transmitted was very striking, and this song also came to like rhythm well.
My father liked Beatles originally, and I was often listening to their song from small time, too.

But I had not listened to this song, and when hearing for the first time, an impact was received, so I chose this song.
